Philadelphia Suzuki Piano Academy founder and teacher Janet Miller studied oboe at The Curtis Institute of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree. She holds a Master's degree in sacred music/organ from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where she is currently the organist at the Nassau Presbyterian Church. She spent one year in Weimar, Germany studying organ improvisation at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt", earning a Diploma from that conservatory. Ms. Miller successfully completed the Music Together® Teaching Workshop developed by the Center for Music and Young Children, Princeton, New Jersey. In addition, she continues to study the Suzuki Piano method (a lifelong pursuit) with a variety of teachers in the Philadelphia area as well as Suzuki master teachers from around the country and the world, including teachers from Dr. Shinichi Suzuki's original Talent Education Program in Matsumoto, Japan.
Growing up in an envivonment enriched with love for classical music, Suzuki Piano Teacher Stephanie Hasselbach studied piano as a young girl with her grandfather, concert pianist Werner Langguth, in Wertheim, Germany. Inspired by the musical artistry in her family, Stephanie studied traditional piano for 8 years. With the encouragement of her piano teacher, she began to study the Suzuki Piano Method in 2006. Stephanie completed teacher training apprenticeship courses taught by Joan Krzywicki and is a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She continues to attend many collaborative workshops and research groups with other Suzuki piano teachers to enhance her teaching technique, including workshops led by teachers from Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s Talent Education Program in Matsumoto, Japan. Stephanie is an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association, and the Suzuki Piano Basics Foundation. She is also a registered Music Together teacher. With her passion for music and love for children combined, her goal is to enrich the lives of children through teaching music.
Zoe Park is pursuing her Master’s degree in piano pedagogy at Temple University. While studying with Professor Harvey Wedeen, she is also working as a TA in the keyboard department. Zoe received hr Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance from Virginia Commonwealth University under the tutelage of Dmitri Shteinberg. During her undergraduate studies she received numerous scholarships and recognitions from competitions. Zoe has extensive experience working with younger students to adults in a variety of settings. She is very passionate about music and has a firm belief that the joy of music lies in the process of making it.
Composer and instructor of Creative Expression Through Musicianship, Christianne Bessières Lane received her MM in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College and her Bachelor of Music Degree in music composition with a concentration in piano performance from Indiana University Bloomington. Her composition teachers include Eugen O’Brien, Marta Ptaszynska, Claude Baker, and Stephan Young. She started composing as a student at the nationally known summer music camp and festival, The Walden School, in Dublin, New Hampshire. She is also a graduate of The Walden School’s Teacher Training Institute.
